Saigon’s New World Hotel celebrates 25th anniversary and unveils two-year transformation

Tomorrow is a milestone in Ho Chi Minh City history as the New World Saigon Hotel, the first international five-star Hotel in Ho Chi Minh, unveils the results of an extensive, two-year renovation of guestrooms, restaurants and lounges, and public spaces, coinciding with the hotel’s 25th anniversary.

The New World Hotel opened in 1994 and since that time has been the choice for many famous visitors to the city, including U.S. Presidents George WH Bush, Bill Clinton and George W Bush, as well as Corazon Aquino, former President of the Philippines, and Japanese Prince Akishinomiya Denka and Princess Kiko.

The hotel has 533 guest rooms to international business and leisure travellers and is op opposite the lush 23 September Park and just steps away from the famous Ben Thanh market. It features comprehensive business facilities, four restaurants and lounges, a health club and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel’s renovation ensures that New World Saigon hotel remains at the forefront of deluxe hospitality in the city, with fresh, contemporary and stylish surroundings matching the tastes of modern business and leisure travellers.

As soon as guests cross the hotel threshold, they will encounter a renewed, light-flooded lobby. And adjacent to the lobby is the revamped Whisper Bar & Lounge, which is an ideal space to have a business conversation with colleagues over a coffee, or as a space to relax after work and meet with friends for a drink and snacks.

Other enhancements to the hotel include a redesign of the Parkview Restaurant, with its eight-meter floor-to-ceiling windows, that will be revealed in the first quarter of 2020. This serene space will be ideal for guests to observe the bustling city scene outdoors in a quietly elegant environment and enjoy refreshments at a light and airy self-service market-style cafe with open kitchen stations and an interactive environment for diners to observe chefs.

The Residence Club Living Room executive lounge has been upgraded with modern furnishings and décor while still retaining its naturally warm ambience, along with a 10th-floor terrace overlooking the busy city and the popular 23 September Park.

Other hotel upgrades include the ballroom, which accommodates 500 guests for events along with refreshed meeting spaces that feature dedicated reception and foyer areas, separate breakout room, and an integrated buffet and a coffee area.
