Keppel Land plans to build a luxury hotel in Saigon Centre

Singapore property developer Keppel Land announced that it plans to develop a luxury hotel with the Saigon Centre, located in Ho Chi Minh City’s downtown, district 1 area. The plans to develop the hotel were made by Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Corporation and Chairman of Keppel Land, in a meeting with Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee on April 5.

Hua noted that Saigon Centre has been developed in phases, and that the first phase of the project includes a shopping mall, an office building and service apartments. The next phase of development will include the construction of a hotel and the development of a large-scale convention center. In addition to these “main projects”, several sub-projects will also be developed which will add value into the entire Saigon Centre project. In addition to the launch of the second phase of Saigon Centre’s development, Keppel Land is also developing Saigon Sports City in the city’s district 2 area. Saigon Sports City is a large-scale project that is envisaged to be a bustling hub, combining high‑quality urban living with vibrant and healthy lifestyles that will be built on 64-hectares in District2’s An Phu Ward. The township will include iconic features including a waterfront boulevard, an open public plaza and Vietnam’s first one‑stop lifestyle hub with comprehensive facilities for sports, entertainment, shopping and dining.

Biophilic design principles will be incorporated into the development such as natural lighting and ventilation, a linear park, vertical greenery and picturesque water features with natural filtration, that create a green and sustainable environment.

The development will be empowered by Azure, Microsoft’s intelligent and trusted cloud system, to enable essential services such as security and access control, remote monitoring and control of smart infrastructure as well as monitoring of community vitals such as air quality. Additionally, a mobile application will deliver lifestyle, transport and other value-adding services to residents and businesses in Saigon Sports City.

In addition to its real estate projects, Keppel Corporation works in the fields of marine, oil, and information infrastructure, while providing sustainable solutions for living environments and smart urban projects. To date, Keppel Land has been approved to carry out 20 projects in Vietnam that encompass more than 22,000 houses.
